2.10.1 Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking

With Link ins Lexikonstress corrosion cracking (SpRK) three conditions must be fulfilled simulta-
neously: there must be a material and a specific medium for the material; in addition, tensile stress must act upon the material, which can also result from internal stresses.
If the crack initiated by the stress corrosion cracking flows along the grain boundary of the metallic structure, intergranular stress corrosion cracking is present.
